The Crown League will launch with twelve inaugural franchises representing key geographical markets throughout the United States. Each franchise will be fractionally owned by the public and professionally managed by a GM and Front Office staff. The Crown League’s Inaugural Draft will take place in the summer of 2019 with all NFL skill players and team defenses available for selection. All subsequent drafts will be restricted to incoming rookies and free agents. The league will officially commence in September of 2019 and operate in an ongoing dynasty format for the purposes of building long-term, legacy franchises. Teams will compete throughout each season in weekly head-to-head matchups with results determined by their collective statistical performance. Public OwnershipThe Crown League aims to democratize the ownership of professional sports by offering the general public ownership interest in both its league and franchises. As a result, individual franchises within the league will be made up of large communities of investors who will collectively root together, govern their teams and share in their profits. This unique and innovative structure has the potential to foster thriving ownership bases that can work together to develop enduring franchises and help grow their value. In doing so, The Crown League finally eliminates the historically inaccessible and unattainable barriers of entry into professional sports ownership. Professionally ManagedEach Crown League franchise will be led by a professional General Manager (GM) and Front Office staff responsible for day-to-day team operations, finance, marketing, and community management. It is anticipated that GMs will have considerable experience and expertise in the fantasy space and be recruited from high profile fantasy platforms, sports media and the professional ranks. Front Office staffs will support GMs and consist of former pro athletes, key influencers, fantasy specialists, and franchise ambassadors. GMs will be tasked with drafting their teams, add/drop waiver determinations, trading of players, and start/sit roster decisions. However, they’ll ultimately be influenced and accountable to their ownership base who will have the ability to hire and replace them through blockchain-enabled voting features.Shared Community EngagementUnlike the passionate, unified fanbases that exist within professional sports, fantasy sports participation is primarily a solitary and isolated experience. The Crown League changes this by immersing its users in a vast and dynamic community of engagement. While access to exclusive franchise channels will provide interactive forums for collaboration, strategy, and influence –  voting privileges will empower owners and facilitate direct input into team decision-making.
